Description
All-In-One Mushroom Grow Bag – High Yield & Beginner Friendly
A complete solution for growing mushrooms at home. Each 5lb all-in-one mushroom grow bag contains sterilized Milo grain and CVG substrate in one self-contained unit. Simply inoculate with a spore syringe or liquid culture, and the entire process—from colonization to fruiting—can take place inside the bag.
Why Choose Our Mushroom Grow Bags?
Designed for reliability
Each bag is sterilized in a commercial autoclave and sealed under HEPA filtration. This ensures a clean, contamination-resistant starting point.
Complete growing environment
Grain and substrate are pre-measured and balanced for optimal hydration, colonization, and multiple flushes.
Simple, no additional equipment required
The built-in self-healing injection port and filter patch allow you to inoculate and grow without tubs, drills, or complex setups.
What's Inside?
-
3lb Milo grain: consistent hydration and fast colonization
-
2lb CVG substrate (coco coir, vermiculite, gypsum): a proven mix for healthy flushes
-
Unicorn filter bag with 0.2 micron patch: clean gas exchange without contaminants
-
Self-healing injection port: simple inoculation
About the Mini LC Jar (Included with 5lb Grow Bags Only)
Each 5lb mushroom grow bag comes with a Mini Liquid Culture (LC) jar. This is a nutrient solution only — it has no spores or genetics inside. You’ll need to provide your own spores or culture.
The Mini LC helps your spores germinate and multiply into a stronger liquid culture before inoculating the bag. This makes colonization faster and reduces the risk of contamination.
Reminder: Spores or starter genetics are not included.
Sterile Manufacturing Process
To ensure sterility and consistency, every bag undergoes:
-
24-hour soak with gypsum for full hydration.
-
Controlled simmer and drying to balance moisture.
-
Sterilization at 17 PSI for 90 minutes.
-
Sealing under a HEPA flow hood.
This process produces clean, contamination-resistant grow bags for dependable results.
How to Use Our Mushroom Grow Bag
-
Inoculate
Clean the injection port with alcohol. Insert your spore or liquid culture and put in 2-3cc. (This is how you inoculate an all-in-one grow bag.) -
Colonize
Store your bag at room temp (65–72°F). Over 2–4 weeks, the mycelium will spread through the grain. Spore syringes take about 3–4 weeks, while liquid culture is faster (2–3 weeks). -
Break and Mix
Once the grain is fully colonized (solid white), it’s time to “break and shake” — massage the colonized grain into the substrate so it can colonize evenly. -
Fruiting
After mixing, wait until the bag is 100% colonized again (2–3 weeks). At this point, stand or hang the bag so it gets indirect light and airflow through the filter patch. That’s when fruiting begins. -
HarvestOnce your mushrooms reach maturity (caps fully formed, veils beginning to tear), it’s time to harvest. Gently twist and pull each mushroom at the base or cut with a clean blade to avoid damaging the block.
After the first flush, allow the block to rest, then rehydrate if needed (mist the surface or dunk briefly in clean water). With proper care, most bags will produce 2–3 flushes, totaling an average of ~3oz of dried mushrooms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I grow directly in the bag?
Yes. These bags are designed to support colonization and fruiting without transferring to another chamber.
Do spores come with the bag?
No. You’ll need your own spore syringe or liquid culture.
How much will a 5lb mushroom growing bag yield?
On average, you can expect around 3oz of dry mushrooms per bag. But yields vary based on:
-
Your genetics/strain
-
Cleanliness of your spores or culture (always test first)
-
Following the included instructions carefully
My grow bag isn’t fruiting. What should I do?
Check colonization, light, and hydration. If the block looks dry, mist or rehydrate before fruiting again.
Can I transfer my mushroom grow bag to a monotub?
It’s not recommended to break apart a fully colonized All-In-One (AIO) grow bag. These bags are designed to be fruited as-is. However, you can place the whole colonized bag inside a monotub as a fruiting chamber to give it more surface area, better airflow, and potentially bigger yields. This approach helps your mushrooms thrive without disturbing the mycelium.
How do I get a second flush?
After harvesting, rehydrate by misting or dunking. Return the block to fruiting conditions and wait for new pins.
How long do spores take in an all-in-one grow bag?
Spores usually take 3-4 weeks to colonize, while liquid culture takes 2–3 weeks. Please note that spores are NOT included in our grow bag.
What’s the shelf life of grow bags?
About 4 weeks at room temperature, up to 6 weeks if refrigerated.
